Installation Terms and Condition

Terms and Conditions for iHelios Heating System Installation

These Terms and Conditions outline the standard rules and requirements for the installation of the iHelios Heating System by iHelios Living Reinvented Ltd. The document details the necessary preparations the customer must undertake to ensure a successful installation, as well as what is included and excluded in the service. Adhering to these guidelines helps guarantee the optimal performance and longevity of the iHelios Heating System.

1. Property Preparation

The customer is responsible for ensuring that the property is suitable and properly prepared for the installation of the iHelios heating system.

1.1 Ceiling Installation Requirements

The preparation of ceilings for the installation of the iHelios Heating System depends on the type of installation as outlined in our Technical Specification. The system may be mounted between existing joists, in between layers of plasterboards or may require the installation of frames/battens. Installation is also available from the loft. It is essential to confirm the specific installation requirements with the installer prior to the installation. Follow these standard steps:

Ensure the ceiling is accessible with no obstructions.

Mark the exact positions for lights and detectors.

It is advisable to delay any finishing works until the iHelios installation is completed.

To ensure the highest efficiency of our system, the customer is responsible for selecting, procuring, and independently installing wool insulation to support the iHelios system.

It is the customer's responsibility to specify whether the installation will involve one or two layers of plasterboard. This information is crucial as it affects both the material quotation and the cost of installation.

When installing between two layers of plasterboards, the first layer of plasterboard has to be fitted before iHelios installation and the position of the joists/profiles has to be clearly marked on the wall.

When the ceiling installation is processed from the loft, the loft area must be cleared from

floorboards and insulation. The space between the floorboard joists has to be vacuumed and free of debris and dust.

The thermal resistance value of the selected plasterboard must not exceed 0.15 m2K/W.

Additionally, the plasterboard cannot be foil-backed, as this type will block heat distribution.

1.2 Underfloor Installation Requirements

Before installing the iHelios system under the floor, it is essential to confirm the specific

requirements with the installer prior to the installation. Follow these standard steps:

Purchase a polythene protective membrane suitable for underfloor heating.

Lay half of the membrane on the entire floor area before the iHelios system installation.

Ensure the floor surface is smooth and level to avoid damage to iHelios heating materials.

Remove any obstructions or debris from the floor.

To ensure the highest efficiency of our system, the customer is responsible for selecting,

procuring, and independently installing insulation to support the iHelios system.

The most suitable and durable flooring for our heating system includes wood or engineered

wood (14-20 mm) and laminate (10-14 mm) with a clip-on system. It must be flooring without an attached underlay, and the thermal resistance value must not exceed 0.15 m2K/W.

1.3 Electrical Preparation

1.3.1 Ceiling Installation

Before the iHelios Heating System installation, the customer's chosen electrician must install a standard UK 13 Amp fused spur or a 20 Amp double pole switch for each thermostat, depending on the load. An electrician must also fit a 45mm back box for each thermostat and provide channelling for 3 cables from the thermostat back box to the ceiling. The location of lights/detectors in the ceiling must be marked.

1.3.2 Underfloor Installation

Before the iHelios Heating System installation, the customer's chosen electrician must install a standard UK 13 Amp fused spur or a 20 Amp double pole switch for each thermostat, depending on the load. An electrician must also fit a 45mm back box for each thermostat and provide channelling for 3 cables from the thermostat back box to the floor.

1.4 Adjustments Requests

If the customer wishes to make changes to the iHelios installation plan:

Notify at least 3 days before the planned installation date.

Additional costs will be charged for changes made after this point due to delays, additional

materials, and labor involved in the installation process.
